When did brass jewelry begin to be made in Lithuania?

Jewelry ◈ became widespread in Lithuania at the beginning of the Bronze Age (1600 BC).

Various ornaments were made from brass and silver (neck rings, bracelets, brooches, temple ornaments, rings, pins, pendants). Weapons, parts of warriors' clothing, and horse bridles were also decorated.

What is the significance of Baltic brass jewelry?

In ancient times, they were not only ornaments but also protective amulets for people, horses, and homes, as well as symbols of social status.

Baltic women and men wore many brass ornaments. It was believed that this metal not only protected against negative energy but also possessed healing powers. Every Lithuanian, even today, should wear silver, brass, or amber bracelets on the right hand. A brass bracelet or ring protects against misfortunes of fate, and it is not only effective protection from evil but also very decorative. These are the traditions of our ancestors.

Does brass jewelry protect from evil?

Yes, brass jewelry has long been associated with protection, strength, and inner balance, and is considered a powerful protective amulet.

It is believed that brass can help protect against negative environmental influences and symbolically guard against bad thoughts. History and archaeological finds show that brass jewelry was an important part of our ancestors’ culture – it not only adorned but also carried symbolic meaning, connecting a person with their roots.
